How long do ghostwriting and publishing take?

It will depend on the specific arrangement with the ghostwriter, but on average, the first full draft of the manuscript is completed in 4 - 6 months. The additional editing, design, marketing, and publishing steps will take an additional 6+ months, depending on the number of revisions requested, and how much time the author requires to review and provide feedback on the manuscript and design elements.

What does the payment schedule look like?

The payments can be broken into 4 equal payments, spread across 4 milestones. The exact schedule will depend on the individual arrangement between the author and the ghostwriter and can be influenced by factors including: the availability of the author for initial interviews, how long the author needs to approve each milestone, and the number of revisions needed. However, in general you can expect the following payment schedule:

Milestone 1: Owed upon project initiation.

Milestone 2: Owed upon author’s approval of the book outline and first 2 chapters. Typically, 1-2 months following the project initiation.

Milestone 3: Owed upon the ghostwriter’s delivery of the first full draft of the manuscript. Typically, 2-3 months following milestone 2.

Milestone 4: Owed after the revisions have been applied from the first round of professional editing (Line Edit). Typically, 2 months following milestone 3.

How will I be matched with a ghostwriter?

We will have you complete a Ghostwriting Questionnaire, and your responses will help us determine the best fit for your project. You will get an opportunity to read about the ghostwriter’s experience and their bio before proceeding. You will also have a complimentary Discovery Call with the ghostwriter we match you with to ensure you share the vision for the book and can build a good working relationship before starting the project.

Are there any other publishing fees that are not included in the packages that I need to be aware of?

Depending on your country of residence, you may need to purchase your own ISBNs. The costs vary by country. We will guide you through the ISBN assignment process when the time comes. Aside from that, there are no additional costs required for you to publish your book.
